Structural engineers are most commonly involved in the design of multi stroied buildings, industrial structures, bridges, prefabricated structures etc. Structural engineers must ensure their designs satisfy given design criteria, predicated on safety and serviceability and performance. Structural engineering theory is based upon physical laws and empirical knowledge of the structural performance of different materials and geometries. Structural engineering design utilizes a number of simple structural elements to build complex structural systems. Structural engineers are responsible for making creative and efficient use of funds, structural elements and materials to achieve these goals.
M.E Structural Engineering is a two year full time course that aims to provide Masters Degree for Civil Engineering graduates. The post graduate program in Structural Engineering is aimed at moulding structural engineers who can do safe and economical design of civil and other structures. The program emphasizes on developing strong learning skills and imparting knowledge in key subject areas relevant to structural engineering. The Department has well equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art needs. Dynamic, experienced & committed faculty with more accountability is the strength of the department.
